This was another busy week for me, as it was the first full week with the new baby in my daycare, and I had a few part time kiddos come on Tuesday and Wednesday. The extra money is wonderful, but five in diapers, three on bottles is a little hectic! Here is my newest little one, Lorelai. She is four months old, and just a doll!!
Ava was back to school this week after having about ten days off. She wasn't so sure about going back on Monday night, but got right back into the swing of the things. It was good for her to get back to her schedule, but it was nice having her home for that time too. She is such a little helper with all the daycare kids, and a fantastic big sister to Silas. She is so patient with him, and never seems to get upset by anything that he does. We will see how long that lasts, right? :-)
Silas had his 18 month check up a few weeks ago (yes....I know that he turned 21 months this week, but I am still playing catch up after moving down here, so cut me a little slack). He was unable to get his vaccinations because he had an ear infection. I was surprised as he had not been acting like his ear was bothering him at all, but we did the 10 days of antibiotics and were told to schedule a nurse's visit in a few weeks to get the shots. So we did, and Eric took him in yesterday (Friday) to finally get the shots. They looked in his ears again to make sure everything was fine, and told Eric that Silas still had the same ear infection and the antibiotics didn't work. Had no idea! The little bugger doesn't act any different. So, we are on another stronger type of antibiotics and hope it works this time!
Ava had her Girl Scouts on Thursday, and is excited about the end of the year trip to Nickolodeon Studios here in Orlando. I am pretty pumped too! Seriously, this girl is going to get spoiled living down here for a few years. Next Friday, her Kindergarten class is taking their "end-of-the-year" field trip to.......Sea World! Crazy, right? My big field trip wasn't until 8th grade, and it was to Adventureland. I remember waiting all four years of middle school to take that one, and even that pales in comparison to Sea World! Lucky girl. And lucky me, as I volunteered to chaperone that one. :-)
When Eric and I woke up this morning, Ava had "made" breakfast for us. I had this waiting for me:
Apple juice, Cocoa Pebbles with milk, and my name place card. How sweet!!!
Today we went to a birthday party for a son of a person that Eric works with at Sanford Burnham. It was a park, and there was a splash pad, two playground areas (one for big kids, one for little kids), and they were both covered by huge canopies, a sand volleyball area, a basketball court, a soccer field, a shelter with picnic tables, public restrooms, and a small pond for fishing with a walking trail around it. It was one of the nicest parks I have been to, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous! The humidity broke for today, and it was 75 degrees and sunny with a breeze. Just perfect!
I think Silas enjoyed the food the most, which is pretty on par for that kid. He was excited to have his own piece of pizza that was not cut up. I am pretty sure he ate more of his piece that Ava did.
After the birthday party, Ava and I went to get our hair cut. She has been wanting to get her hair cut for awhile, and it turned out super cute! She looks so much older I think with the shorter hair.
Now if that darn loose tooth in the front would just come out! It is so loose that she is having a hard time eating. But she won't let Eric anywhere near it, for fear that he might make good on his promise to just "yank it out."
Well, that about sums up our week! Hope you all had a great one too!
