Bonnet Creek Resort and Star Wars Weekend at Hollywood Studios

Last weekend, we were fortunate enough to stay at Bonnett Creek Resort here in Orlando, which is located on Disney property.  It is a timeshare unit, and Jim and Jean Toillion was super awesome, and let us use their points to get the unit for the weekend.  It was GORGEOUS and such a nice place!  The zero depth entry and lazy river were literally right outside the door, and the weather was hot and sunny.  It was also opening weekend for Star Wars at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Ava was really excited to go there.  So we combined the two since we were so close to all the theme parks.  It was the best weekend!  So relaxing, and lots of family time!  Hope you are ready for LOTS of pictures!
Star Wars-Storm Troopers

Star Wars again....Han Solo frozen

Don't mess with this guy and his light saber!

A little guy checking out Darth Vader

Honey I Shrunk the Kids play area.

Ridin' the huge ant.

Ava's "Singing in the Rain"

Lightning McQueen!  "Vroom, vroom!"

A Star Wars Droid with Mickey Mouse ears. :-)

Even Minnie and Mickey were dressed up as Star Wars characters

Swimming at the pool at our resort

Silas LOVED the zero depth entry into the lazy river!

It was just right for him!

Our little fish. :-)

Our resort.  We were on the third floor, and you can see our balcony.  I took this picture from the pool.  We were super close!!

Ava with Queen Amidala from Star Wars

Chewbacca and an Ewok!  The Ewok was kind of cute, and Chewbacca was really tall!!

Super cute!  Darth Vader and his little "mini me."  We actually walked past this little girl and her father on the way into the theme park.  She was dressed as Darth Vader, but did not have the helmet/mask on.  She sat down right in front of us to put back on her yellow crocs.  We were surprised to see Darth Vader walking back to his place to sign autographs and realize the little one beside him had on those same yellow crocs. :-)  No idea how she was allowed to do this, but it is pretty neat!

Getting ready to ride Toy Story Mania 3D ride.  He has his game face on.

This was SUPER adorable!!  This is a Green Army Man from the Toy Story movies.  He walked right up to Silas and held out his hand for Silas to give him a high five.  Instead, Silas grabbed his fingers and started to take him on a walk. :-)  It was so cute!

Silas, Green Army Man, and Ava

Silas would not let go of his hand. :-)

Still holding on..........

The Green Army Man had to kneel down and peel back Silas's little fingers.  The guy was super nice about it.

Silas giving him a hug good-bye....finally.

Ava's turn to give him a hug.  The Green Army Man pointed to his cheek and got a kiss too.  I LOVED how patient he was with the kids, instead of trying to rush through them to get to other people.  You usually don't get this much time with a character at Disney.  It was really neat!

Perhaps my FAVORITE picture!  Silas walked right up to a Storm Trooper from Star Wars, and they stared each other down.  It was great!!

Having a stand off with a Storm Trooper.  Again, it was so unusual to get this much time with a character.  Usually there is a huge line and you are lucky if you get one picture.  It was definitely our lucky day!

Even Eric got in a picture with a Storm Trooper!  We all loved Star Wars Weekend!

The Sand People

Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vader before he becomes evil, for those who are not Star Wars fans.....) an a member of the council.

Chewbacca!

We went to the night show at Hollywood Studios for the first time, but to get good seats, we arrived about 90 minutes before it started.  Keeping a toddler boy entertained for 90 minutes is a challenge!  Thank goodness for Netflix on Mommy's phone!  Thomas the Train and Curious George were a lot of help!!

More swim time the next morning!  We had the pool to ourselves, which was very nice!

We had such a great weekend!!!  No housework, no laundry, no stress......just relaxation and family togetherness.  Wish we could do that every weekend!
